In the next year, our economy is going to be a bit of a mess and the challenge to keep our respective businesses growing may … well, be more challenging!

As members of Lake Oswego LeTip, we have the distinct advantage of having developed relationships with each other that will help us.  But, we can’t rest on our laurels, we have to, we MUST grow our chapter and increase our potential.

How Do We Grow Our Membership?

We’re often advised to open up to potential members by mentioning the benefits of our chapter.  We are often advised to bring someone in “for breakfast” to experience our meetings.  These are good tips to bringing in guests … but how can we turn a “guest” into a “member”? That’s a good question, and one that merits a specific plan of action.

The simple answer is … TEAMWORK.

Here’s how we’ve envisioned the TEAM ACTION PLAN:

Guest follow-up.

After a guest attends …

  1. The President, Aaron Yeagle, makes a follow-up call the next day (Wednesday) to thank the guest for coming and make the offer for them to return (or to discover why they may decline to return).  I then call the Membership Chair, John Wisniewski, to inform him of the results.
  2. Membership Chair, John Wisniewski, makes a follow-up call on the Friday after, reminding guest to attend the following Tuesday (if it is their first visit).  John then calls YOU to let you know he spoke with your guest.
  3. Invitor, YOU, calls guest Monday to remind guest to attend the next morning.

If we make this small effort as a team we can make a one-visit guest into a two-visit guest and then into a member!

Please contact a boardmember if you have any additional comments or questions.
